Job description
SUMMARY
The Rigger is responsible for managing and monitoring all the various elements of a vessel's operation, ensuring the rigging is safe for use. Duties of an offshore Rigger may include monitoring, inspecting, or operating heavy equipment on an offshore rig; ensuring that activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and in accordance with approved procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Rigger’s main responsibilities are:
· Responsible for the safe and efficient execution of all activities on deck areas
· Inspect and prepare loads that need to be moved,Set up, align and leveling heavy equipment machinery.
· Select the appropriate rigging gears, preparing rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts.
· Inspect rigging before final use. Monitor and maintain rigging equipment, manoeuvre loads using heavy equipment machinery and by hand.
· Ensure compliance with state and company safety procedures, communicating with the rigging and construction team.Breaking down rigging equipment and conducting post-rigging inspections.
· Control all lifting operations in accordance with Intesoll Sapura procedures for lifting Equipment and operation on barges, ships and yards.
· Maintain all rigging in use and ensure all lifting equipment and rigging is in Certification
· Maintain an offshore rigging inventory to be shared with the onshore team on a bi-weekly basis if required.
· Ensures the safety of yourself, team and equipment in all lifting operations, ensuring proper selection of appropriate lifting gears for all lifting operations.
· Ensures periodic auditing of all lifting gears and records are kept. Removes from service any unsafe lifting gear and record kept. Attach loads to lifting equipment for safe lifting.
· Ensures safe dismantle and storage of rigging equipment after use. Responsible for the implementation of safe rigging practices.
· Proactively participate in project safety briefings, HIRAs and tool box talks. Encouraging use of observation Cards and seek feedback on its progress, relaying recommendations and feedback to direct reports.
REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum of HND in Engineering
· Minimum of 5 years working experience as a rigger /foreman in the oil and gas industry
· A valid offshore survival certificate, a valid medical certificate and a valid IWCF well control Certificate are required.
· Must be physically fit, as the job requires standing for a long period and working in challenging conditions.
· Must have a good problem solving skills and be able to make quick decisions in an unexpected situation.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to lead and motivate team.
